To celebrate the 45th anniversary of the diplomatic relation establishment between China and Iceland, delegated by ministry of culture and invited by Harper Music Hall and Conference Center, under the leader of vice president of CNTC Mr. Yang Fan and vice director from ministry of culture Ms. Zhao Xinshu, the “Three Monks” troupe went to Reykjavik, the capital of Iceland, for a period of 5 days of performance and cultural exchange. This is the first time in most recently five years that Chinese performing troupe have been to Iceland. Also, this is the first time that CNTC have been to the capital which is the northernmost on earth.
Members of the “Three Monks” troupe left Beijing International Airport in the morning of August 18th. After nearly 24 hours of long-distance flight, they arrived in Reykjavík. Because of the temporary change in Iceland’s theatre schedule, the troupe decided to adjust the original plan to ensure the show going well. After arriving at the hotel, leader, director, stage manager and staffs rushed to the theatre. After negotiation, they decided to work at night in August 19th. The whole stage setting up, light adjustment took more than ten hours.
In August 20th, there will be two performances of “Three Monks” at 1pm and 6pm. Chinese ambassador to Iceland and his wife, members of Iceland ASSITEJ will attend the show. The beautiful Harper will remember us, please look forward to the successful performances.
