On July 16th, the opening ceremony of the 6th China Children’s Theatre Festival in Chengdu was successfully held. The festival will be held separately in Chengdu Children’s Theatre and Xichan Theatre, last 37 days until August 21st. Six repertoires will be performed and eighteen times in total.

Party secretary of CNTC Mr. Lei Xining, director of the radio and television press and public bureau Mr. Shi Jiang, president of the Women’s Federation of Chengdu Ms. Liu Xia, vice president of the Women’s Federation of Chengdu Ms. Li Jie, director of the arts department of the culture, broadcast and TV publication bureau Mr. Zhang Decai, director of the center for the protection of intangible cultural heritage Mr. Cai Deming, party secretary of the center for the protection of intangible cultural heritage Mr. Xiao Ying, art director of the center for the protection of intangible cultural heritage Mr. Che Erning, director of women and children’s center of Chengdu Mr. Gao Xiaofang, secretary of women and children’s center of Chengdu Mr. Li Xiping, and other concerning leaders attended the opening ceremony as well as the first performance.

President of the Women’s Federation of Chengdu Ms. Liu Xia hosted the event. Party secretary of CNTC Mr. Lei Xining gave an opening speech, which included a brief introduction of the 6th China Children’s Theatre Festival in Chengdu parallel session, its meaning and influences. He said, “Chengdu, as a city with long history and beautiful view, has become the parallel session of China Children’s Theatre Festival in Chengdu again.”

After the opening ceremony, participating leaders, guests together with young audiences in the theatre watched The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.

China Children Theatre’s Festival together with many amazing repertoires will help the children spend a happy vacation full of fairy tales and dreams.
