The 6th China Children's Theatre Festival will be jointly held by China National Theatre for Children, Beijing Dongcheng District Committee, Government, and China Children's Drama Society from July 8 to August 25, 2016. The drama festival theme is "Light Children's Heart and Shape the Future--Build Chinese Dream Together", and the excellent drama exhibition and performance, children's drama communication and discussion and drama carnival activities will be taken as the carrier. The festival duration is 49 days and 25 arts group will take part in the exhibition and performance. 46 pieces of domestic and overseas excellent children drama works will be covered, which are from China, America, Romania, Lithuania, Japan, Korea, Spain, Australia and Chinese Taibei. And there will be 215 shows which will attract 160,000 audiences. Simultaneously branch sessions will be set up in Jinan, Chengdu and Ningbo.

    I. Various repertoires included, paying attention to appreciating value of audience and having audience jury to choose their favorite repertoire for the first time. The 6th China Children's Theatre Festival will continue focusing on high-quality dramas. In respect of performance content, it will focus on unification of thought, artistic and appreciation value, pay attention to diversity of artistic expression and styles and audience-oriented. It is the first time to have audience jury to choose the favorite repertoire on line. And all repertoires will be marked for suitable age groups of kids to watch, in order to make the best recommendation for kids of various age groups. Repertoires on exhibition and performance including fairy tale Malan Flower, puppetry Snow White and Seven Dwarfs, Little Tadpole Looks for Its Mommy, physical anime drama Three Monks, children's drama Little Prince, children's drama The King in Moomin Valley, large-scale children's drama Peter Pan, puzzle fun play for children Chan-Chan-Change-Little Jeep, children's drama Aesop's Fables, myth Stage Series Journey to the West I, Zheng Yuanjie fairy tale Little Tin Kid, classic fairy tale of Anderson The Little Match Girl and children's drama Time Forest by China National Theatre for Children, one of Chinese Idiom Stories cooperated by CNTC and Missoula Children's Theatre, children's drama Ali Baba and Forty Thieves, and children's drama Journey to the West by Beijing Ugly Duckling Troupe Co, Ltd., large-scale dinosaurs drama You Are Umasou by Beijing Children's Art Theatre Co., Ltd., children's drama Shadow Thief by Spain AU MENTS Troupe, cartoon drama Cotton Candy and Cloud Mother by China Puppet Art Theatre Co., Ltd., Xiaoyu Story-telling Show by Beijing Radio Program Production Center, Family Concert of Fairy Tales by Beijing Chicpia International Culture Development Co., Ltd., puppet drama Who Are You? by Romania Tandarica Animation Theatre, children's drama Hua Mulan by Zhejiang Drama Ensemble, children's dance drama White Lullaby by Lithuania PADI PAPI Troupe, ballet Cinderella by The Comic Opera for Children(Romania), musical Scrap by Laughing Cats Co., Ltd.(Japan), fairy tale Roman de Renart by Jinan Children's Art Theatre, Korean traditional puppetry Brave Grandpa Piao by Korean Yue Shan Theatre, and The Flying Princess adapted from fairy picture book by Taibei If Kids Theatre Company will be performed in Beijing, Jinan, Ningbo, Chengdu, Tianjin, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Taiyuan, Hangzhou and other 15 cities respectively in China, as well as in Iceland, in order to create an international children's theatre event. The cooperation between China National Theatre for Children and Missoula Children's Theatre in 2016 has been listed into the Seventh Round of CPE, this is the second time that cooperation project by the two Parties has been listed into it. One of the cooperation projects is, young Americans from Missoula will be invited to perform Chinese Idiom Stories in Chinese on the stage of CNTC during the 6^th China Children's Theatre Festival. National tour repertoires of children's theatre line subsidized by National Endowment for Arts, such as large-scale children's drama Peter Pan by China National Theatre for Children, children's drama Hua Mulan by Zhejiang Drama Ensemble, pantomime Roman de Renart by Jinan Children's Art Troupe, pantomime Aladdin and His Wonderful Lamp by Tianjin Children's Art Troupe will also perform in the 6th China Children's Theatre Festival.

    II. Various activities, widely participating, create an international and high-qualified development platform for children's drama. The 6th China Children's Theatre Festival will set up show sections for productions from Japan, South Korea and China for the first time. Peter Pan, Little Tin Kid, Snow White and Seven Dwarfs, The Little Match Girl, Journey to the West I by China National Theatre for Children, Flying Princess by Taibei If Kids Theatre Company, Scrap by Laughing Cats Co., Ltd.(Japan), Brave Grandpa Piao by Korean Yue Shan Theatre will be displayed centrally through excellent performance and rich activities, in order to create a resounding and extraordinary children's drama brand in Japan, South Korea and China, and even in Asia. In the section of international children's drama salon, representatives from International Children's Theatre (Trouper) will be specially invited to watch the repertoire performance, and discuss the Children' drama development. It will promote China children' drama's step to the world, share experience in creating domestic and foreign children's productions, deepen cooperation of international children's drama, and raise the influence of China Children's Theatre Festival in the field of international children's theatre . In section of children's drama workshop, drama experts from Japan, Romania and Taiwan will be invited to hold workshop with various forms and novel content. The workshop will be expanded to Children's Palace and kindergartens. In the 60th anniversary special exhibition "Glorious 60 Years" for the 60^th Anniversary of Foundation of CNTC, the little volunteers were trained to explain glorious history of China National Theatre for Children. At the same time, Seminar of China Children's Theatre Festival, Photo Exhibition, Post Show Talk, Summer Camp of Children's Drama, Children's Drama Education Day, Children's Dramatic Book Experience Day, Children's Drama Open Day and other drama activities will be held to enrich the dimension of the Theatre Festival and expand the influence of the Theatre Festival.

    III. Practice public service, focus on basic level and strengthen the construction of campus drama position.  The 6th China Children's Theatre Festival adhere to the principles of high-quality, low ticket price and public welfare. The average ticket price is 90 Yuan/ticket. Low-price tickets below 100 Yuan is 40% of the original price. The 6th China Children's Theatre Festival will provide free public performance tickets for children of migrant workers, poor families, orphans and disabled children combined with Arts and Culture Committee of Dongcheng District, Beijing, to further expand the coverage of public performance tickets. During the Theatre Festival, each repertoire performed in CNTC will reserve 10 tickets for teachers. Teachers can get the tickets free by showing his/her Teaching Certification. It will contribute to the construction of campus drama culture, vigorously develop basis of drama audiences, and build rich atmosphere of children's drama; it will combine Arts and Culture Committee of Huairou District, Beijing as the associate organization to send excellent children's dramas and rich activities in Theatre Festival to rural areas and basic levels, fully implement the purpose that children's dramas serve basic levels and children, and let children who cannot go to the theatre in common days enjoy the wonderful dramas. As the host organization, China National Theatre for Children will set up parallel sessions in Jinan, Chengdu and Ningbo in order to deepen the influence of China's Theatre Festival to the Eastern, Central and Western regions. At the same time, two excellent foreign repertoires from Japan and South Korea will have performance tour in Beijing, Jinan, Chengdu and Ningbo, which will let children from basic levels enjoy the excellent children's dramas from all over the world without going abroad.  The China Children's Theatre Festival has been successfully held five sessions, which has been a national initiative, world famous platform for displaying excellent domestic and foreign children's dramas. It has been the new platform to promote the communication of children's drama and excellent brand of Beijing Cultural Center. It has got recognition and welcome from all sectors of society, especially children.     The 6th China Children's Theatre Festival will make new breakthroughs and processes in organization forms, activity contents and service quality, fully display achievements in children's drama creation, set up stage of arts communication for children's drama artists home and abroad, build platform of arts experience for numerous children and families, promote prosperous development of children's drama, and establish a long-term mechanism for communication and display of excellent children's dramas home and abroad.
